First Cousin to husband Henry John King Ida was known to be strict and dominating: she refused to speak to Thelma (her daughter) for many years because she considered Thelma had married beneath her to an employee, working in the house. Ida was persuaded to invest in the proposed new Woolworths chain in Australia, by nephew Ewen Cameron, before he suicided due to mental illness Woolworths was established by Percy Christmas (another of her nephews) |
